Home/Resources/What to Expect During a Bathroom Renovation

A bathroom renovation is one of the most impactful home improvement projects you can undertake, but it does involve some temporary disruption to your daily routine. Here is an honest, detailed guide to what you can expect during a General Modernizer bathroom renovation.

Noise and Dust

Demolition generates significant noise and some dust. Our crew uses dust barriers and daily cleanup to minimize the spread of dust through your home, but some dust migration is inevitable. We recommend covering furniture in adjacent rooms and expecting some noise during working hours (typically 8am to 5pm on weekdays).

Daily Crew Presence

Our crew will be in your home each workday for the duration of the project. General Modernizer or a designated supervisor is present at all times. You do not need to be home during the workday, but we ask that someone be available for questions and decisions as they arise.

Material Deliveries

Tile, fixtures, and materials are typically delivered before or at the start of the project. We coordinate deliveries to minimize the time materials are staged in your home. A staging area near the bathroom will be used to store materials during the renovation.

Daily Cleanup

Our crew performs thorough cleanup at the end of each workday. Debris is removed, tools are organized, and the work area is left as tidy as possible. We respect your home and treat it with the same care we would our own.

Communication

General Modernizer maintains open communication throughout the project. You will receive updates on progress, any issues that arise, and any decisions that require your input. We believe that informed homeowners are satisfied homeowners.
